Need-Based Financial Assistance & Scholarships

SIG will begin accepting financial aid applications for 2009 on December 1, 2008.

We are pleased to be able to offer financial assistance to many students in their endeavor to attend our program and ask that you please read the following information carefully before applying for financial assistance from SIG.

Availability of SIG financial assistance varies by campus and is not intended to cover the total cost of the student’s attendance at SIG. Financial assistance awards serve as the final payment on your account and are not attributed until all other fees are paid. Following the submission of your application for assistance, you must continue to adhere to the SIG payment schedule as outlined in our catalog while you are awaiting our decision.

SIG is also pleased to work with other organizations and foundations to provide full or partial scholarships. To apply for these scholarships, you will need to fill out the financial assistance application available on our website. You are automatically entered in the pool of applicants for scholarships being awarded this year when you complete this application and return it to the SIG office in Stamford. Scholarship award decisions are based on the financial documents provided by you with your application. All financial assistance and scholarship recipients will be notified of the type and amount of award by mail.

For assistance or scholarships, you must send a completed SIG program application and include the non-refundable $150.00 SIG application fee. Applications for financial assistance and the SIG application form will not be processed until the application fee is paid. Full scholarship recipients, whose application fees are included in the scholarship, will be refunded their application fees once the scholarship has been accepted. The deadline for receipt of the financial assistance application and all related materials is April 15.

In order to be considered, all of the following documents must be submitted no later than April 15th:

  1. Signed and completed Financial Assistance Application
  2. A copy of your most recent federal tax return (2007 or 2008) and W-2 forms
  3. Any other financial documentation that you feel is pertinent to your application
  4. If not already submitted, your 2009 SIG application and $150 non-refundable application fee
