American Institute For Foreign Study (AIFS)

The Summer Institute for the Gifted is a division of the American Institute For Foreign Study (AIFS). For more than 40 years, AIFS has been a leader in organizing educational exchange programs for students and teachers. Since its founding in 1964, more than one million students and teachers have participated in AIFS programs worldwide.

SIG participants and their immediate families are eligible for a 5% discount on other AIFS programs. Below is a sample of AIFS programs available. For more information, call (866) 906-2437.

AIFS Summer Advantage – high school study abroad
Summer Advantage enables high school sophomores, juniors and seniors to study for four weeks at universities in Nanjing (China), Cambridge, London, Paris, Salamanca, St. Petersburg, or Rome.

AIFS College Study Abroad
The College Division provides quality study abroad programs for an academic year, a semester or a summer at tuition fees the average student can afford. This academic year and summer, more than 5,000 American full-time students are studying abroad through AIFS.

Au Pair in America – live-in child care with a cultural flair
Au Pair in America makes it possible for nearly 4,000 eager and skilled young adults from around the world to join American families and help care for their children during a mutually rewarding, year-long cultural exchange experience.

Academic Year in America – high school exchange
Nearly 1,000 students from more than 25 countries around the world live with an American family and attend the local high school for five or 10 months. For the AYA student it is a once-in-a-lifetime experience.

Camp America – bringing the world to camp
Camp America arranges for more than 8,000 international students to spend the summer in the United States working as camp counselors and support staff.

Located in Boston, ACIS provides quality educational travel for approximately 20,000 American high school students and teachers each year.
